Support multiple development projects with electronic/electrical designs, provide engineering assistance related to new product development with special emphasis on electronic controls, writing software for embedded controllers/firmware development, circuit board design, electrical components, software management, and appliance wiring.  Assure design compliance to required agency regulations thru design and testing.

Essential Functions:

  1. Support project teams as software/controls expert.
  2. Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers on the hardware design and implementation process.
  3. Troubleshoot, performance tune, and optimize embedded systems in a production environment.
  4. Understand hardware and software interactions.
  5. Perform all phases of software development: requirements, design, implementation, verification, and release, which includes testing and support.
  6. Develop embedded C/C++ applications/firmware.
  7. Develop and execute test procedures.
  8. Develop supporting design documentation.

Job Qualifications:

  1. BS (or MS) in Computer/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Math or related field.
  2. 5+ years developing embedded software using C or assembly language.
  1. Strong programming skills in C and C++ for real-time control and sensor processing.
  2. 2+ years programming and debugging the PIC Family of microcontrollers.
  3. Knowledge of device drivers for interfacing control systems and sensing hardware.
  4. Familiarity with debugging tools such as bus analyzers and oscilloscopes.
  5. Knowledge of peripheral buses like I2C, SPI and CANbus.
  6. Experience in networking and peripheral interfaces RS232, RS485, and Ethernet (TCP-IP).
  7. Demonstrated knowledge of rapid prototyping, debugging and problem solving skills.
  8. Experience with GIT source control system and JIRA tracking system.
  9. Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problem.
  10. Self-starter.  Ability to organize work, prioritize, and follow-thru for successful results.
