Job Description 

Project and Controls Engineer

Location: Douglasville, PA or New York, NY

Description: , a leading engineering consulting firm, has an immediate opening for and experienced protection and controls engineer

for its Douglasville, PA or New York, NY office.  They  specialize in engineering services to electric utilities (substation, protection, transmission, distribution)

alternative energy systems, communication, oil/gas, and heavy industry. The successful candidate will work with multiple design teams involved with conceptual,

preliminary, and final design of station projects [link removed] kV through 500 kV.

Primary Responsibilities

•             Prepare new and modify existing relay drawings including relay panel arrangements, single lines, three lines, AC schematics, DC elementary, equipment

wiring, and relay panel wiring as well as communications diagrams, and incorporation construction mark-ups for project as-built built drawings.

•             Specification development for the procurement, installation and testing of substation protection and control equipment.

•             Apply engineering application software to complete engineering tasks such as ground grid design, equipment sizing, relay coordination, and electrical

studies.

•             Communicate and coordinate project activities with project lead, customer representatives, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

•             Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university

At least 10-15 years’ experience performing engineering related duties

•             Experience performing fault analysis, load analysis, and relay coordination using ETAP or SKM

•             Knowledge of engineering standards including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI

•             PE license preferred

•             Strong written and verbal communication skills; fluent in English language

•             Must be able to perform design functions, with little oversight, as well as direct and take responsibility for the work of younger design engineers,

as well as designers. Successful applicant may be subject to client mandated drug and background checking. Occasional travel/driving may be requested.

 

•             Local candidate to eastern PA, northern/central NJ, or southeast NY
