We are now hiring an expert within the Electromagnetic industry. This Test Range Manager should be a SME on Antenna / RF systems test and measurements, specific to Radar Cross Section (RCS) test systems, [link removed] (Anechoic Chambers, Compact Ranges, Nearfield/Farfield) and Low Observable Antennas. You should be highly passionate & energetic and about RF (antenna and RCS) system testing. This is a research-oriented position that requires experience working in an RF test & measurement environment.

  • 8-12 years: Signature Control and Signature Measurements
  • 2-4 years: Antenna design and analysis, antenna measurements
  • 2-4 years: Radar system design and analysis

Educational Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Math coupled with 10-12 years of applicable industry experience, or

A Master’s degree with 8-10 years or a PhD with 5-8 years' experience is preferred.

Requirements for our Test Range Manager include, but are not limited to:


  • Strengths and work experience with Radar Cross Section (RCS) test ranges, (Anechoic Chambers, Compact Ranges, Nearfield/Farfield Testing) and Low Observables.
  • The Ability to analyze diverse requirements in RF/Microwave measurements with a detailed understanding of electrical design processes to deliver complex system solutions.
  • Strong background in RF systems such as radar, electronic warfare, and RF instrumentation.
  • A strong understanding on the concepts surrounding signature and signature control.
  • Strong analytical skills to understand complex technical systems and problem solve.
  • Significant experience with customer interaction, and the ability to communicate plans and results.
  • The successful candidate will also have expertise in technology management and development and will work with the customer to develop technology roadmaps and solidify future plans and funding.
  • Testing radar systems data analysis and radar data signal processing.
  • Lead and manage groups of engineers working in customers' facilities.
  • Your RF fabrication skills must include that ability to design test equipment, fixtures, and RF systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work well with many departments to develop solutions for the customer consistent with our business goals.


Desired Skills and Experience for the Test Range Manager:

  • A Bachelor’s, Master’s degree or PhD with 5-12 years of industry work history.
  • Familiarity with microwave antenna design and measurement.
  • Familiarity with radar and electronic warfare system design and measurements.
  • Familiarity with HFSS, MATLAB, LABVIEW, CST, GRASP or other industry analytical tools
  • Program and/or personnel management experience is a PLUS!

Overall, we deliver engineering solutions and advanced products for a wide range of technical applications where precise measurement, motion control, and data acquisition is required. We also offer extensive in-house test and measurement facilities covering frequencies from VHF through MMW. While the primary duties of this position will be to support customers’ research projects and support customer test ranges on a regularly scheduled or as-required basis. This Range Manager’s expertise may be sought for several internal research and development efforts.

This position works closely with our customers, business office, and engineering staff to create the solution with the best value for the customer. The Range Manager needs to have capabilities across technical, marketing, and business areas. The qualified candidate will lead and coordinate with multidiscipline teams of scientists, engineers, and technicians in a consolidated effort to successfully deliver systems for microwave measurement of various test items that may range from entire weapon systems to subcomponents such as antennas and radomes used in radar, communications, satellite data transfer, and other applications.
